Afanasiy Apkaryan

Apkaryan Afanasy Saakovich was born on 02/06/1949 in the city of Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region.

In 1973 he graduated from the Siberian Metallurgical Institute, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo Region, with a degree in Heat Engineering and Automation of Metallurgical Furnaces.

From 1973 to 2002, he worked at the Prokopyevsky Porcelain Factory, Kemerovo Region, from 1986 to 2002 as a director.

Since November 5, 1992, he studied at the correspondence post-graduate course of the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science SB RAS, Tomsk (IPPM SB RAS). He defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences in 1995.

09/13/2019, the thesis for the degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences was defended.

He currently works at the Institute of Strength Physics and Materials Science of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IPPM SB RAS) as the head of the nanotechnology structural unit of the IPPM - TSU branch of the Scientific and Educational Center.

Awards: For high achievements in industrial and educational activities, he was awarded the government award “Medal for Labor Valor”, awarded the titles “Excellence in Public Education of the USSR”, “Excellence in Invention and Rationalization of the USSR”, awarded the Certificate of Honor of the SB RAS.
