Education

  • • 2008-2012: Tomsk Polytechnic University (TPU), Bachelor of Engineering and Technology, major "Automation and Control".
  • • 2012-2014: TPU, Master's degree, major Management in technical Systems, awarded the special rank of Master Engineer.
  • • 2014-2018: TPU, postgraduate study, major Computer Science and Computer Engineering, qualification "Teacher-researcher".
  • • 2020: Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronics (TUSUR), professional retraining in the program "Information security".

Professional career

In 2014, he began his career as an engineer of the Department of Scientific and Innovative Development of the TPU Institute of Cybernetics, where he developed and supervised the publication activity of the Institute's staff. Since 2016, he has worked as an assistant of the Department of Automation and Computer Systems, where he taught until 2018. In 2018, he became one of the founders and manager of a private company providing consulting services in the field of scientific publishing. In 2019, Vladimir Faerman joined the team of Tomsk State University of Control Systems and Radioelectronicsas a senior lecturer of the Department of Complex Information Security of Computer Systems.

Scholarly endeavor

His research interests are focused on the research and development of methods for analyzing signals in the frequency and time domains in application to the problem of local positioning of signal source objects. The practical result of the work is software and prototypes of hardware solutions based on single-board computers. Research and development were supported as individual initiative projects by the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (2016, mol_a competition) and the Bortnik Foundation (2018, UMNIK competition).

Member of the editorial board of several major Russian conferences on mathematical modeling, computer engineering and control systems. Among them are IEEE-Siberian Management and Communications (TUSUR), High-performance Computing Systems and Technologies (Altai State University), Mathematical Modeling in Natural Sciences (Perm Polytechnic University). The area of responsibility is to support the preparation and publication of the collection in English, including: communication with international publishers, organization of peer review, proofreading.

Social activities

  1. Since 2019, he has been a volunteer of local organizations of the largest international academic and engineering societies IEEE, ACM. In 2020-2021, Chairman of the Tomsk ACM Group. Since 2022, Chairman of the IEEE Tomsk Group.
  2. Since 2020, he has been an expert of the Bortnik Foundation in the areas of digital technologies, new devices and intelligent production technologies. An expert of the DotCom Enterprise business accelerator (Ufa city).

Scientific and Methodological work

He is engaged in the development and testing of study guides on the discipline "Protection and information in wireless communication systems". It is expected that the focus will be on the study and analysis of methods and protocols used to ensure confidentiality and integrity in Wi-Fi networks. To clearly reflect the systemic nature of the security measures laid down by the developers of the specification, all solutions will be presented and sorted out in chronological order of their appearance (from early to late), with a mandatory description of the context prevailing at the time of adoption of the next document. For the formal analysis of security measures, as well as the assessment of the sufficiency of the technical description in the documents, it is assumed to use such analysis tools as colored Petri nets and symbolic logic analysis. Mastering the skills of using the latter can subsequently be done in the practical course of the discipline "Modeling of networks and telecommunications systems".
